Laura is a huge believer in independent artists and always excited to find opportunities to advocate for creative entrepreneurs. When 2020 posed an existential threat to independent businesses, Laura led the creation of a campaign for ConvertKit that showcased the resilience of actual working creatives and their efforts to pivot to reach audiences in new, innovative ways. Serving as executive creative director, she collaborated with two other independent spirits to bring the work to life, the Wade Brothers.
When the campaign went live, Laura said: “This year has dealt a significant cultural and economic blow to independent artists, creators, and their ability to reach their audiences. Creative energy isn’t going anywhere, though, and that resilience inspired us to tell stories about people who won’t stop pushing their craft forward. In partnership with creators Whitney Manney, Calvin Arsenia, and ConvertKit we created a campaign about creatives building their craft at their pace in their way.”
